Welcome to the Madonie Mountains — a UNESCO Global Geopark, wild-green and ruggedly beautiful.
Sicily Nature Retreat sits near Castelbuono, a medieval town inside the Madonie Park (castle, exhibitions, and real culture vibes included). From here you’re quickly at the sea in Cefalù — and just as quickly up in the mountains, all the way to Pizzo Carbonara (1,979 m), the highest peak in the Madonie.
And then there’s the house: a book-filled country home with panoramic terraces, fresh air, and deep quiet. Perfect for digital detox, slow travel, and the kind of reset you’ll still feel days later — in your head and in your bones. You can hike, birdwatch, sit under the olive trees and do absolutely nothing, or (if you feel like it) get your hands in the garden. Creatives come here to write, paint, make music, or take photos — and if you need to work, it’s a pretty perfect, green workation base.
I’m Marion — and true hospitality is my passion. I love this region: its people, its culture, and its traditions. For me, the Madonie are not only breathtaking nature, but living history — villages, crafts, stories, small rituals — and a cuisine that has always grown from what thrives here, with inspiration from, among others, North African flavors.
I’ve been cooking for guests for years, happily weaving fermentation experiments (like kimchi and kefir) into my kitchen. Wild herbs and plants growing around the house are a must, too. My philosophy is simple: these herbs have been used here for generations — I want to preserve that knowledge, share it, and translate it into something exciting for a modern kitchen. Fermentation — and occasionally distillation — is how I make flavors deeper, brighter, and more sensual.

And then there are our bees: our own honey (seasonal), plus homemade jams — everything harvested from the garden with care and respect.

And maybe you’ll only notice it on day two: it doesn’t have to be spectacular every minute to feel like paradise. That’s why my place is called Always Paradise — because in the small things, it’s almost always a little bit of paradise.
